Evaluation and GWAS of radicle gravitropic response in a core rice germplasm population

Abstract Aims Since gravitropism is one of the primary determinants root development, facilitating penetration into soil and subsequent absorption water nutrients, we studied this response in rice. Methods The 226 Chinese rice micro-core accessions drought-resistant core were assessed through modified gravity-bending experiment genome-wide association analysis (GWAS) was used to map associated QTLs. Results average value gravitropic speed seminal roots 41.05°/h, ranging from 16.77°/h 62.83°/h. gravity Indica (42.49°/h) significantly (P < 0.002) higher than Japonica (39.71°/h) subspecies. gravitational positively correlated with number deep (r = 0.16), growth 0.21) drought resistance coefficient 0.14). Conclusions In total, 3 QTLs (quantitative traits) identified on chromosome 4, 11 12. There are some known relating traits located nearby here, which confirms close relationship between radicle resistance. From within these intervals, 5 candidate genes screened verified by qPCR a few varieties extreme phenotypic values, demonstrating that gene LOC_Os12g29350 may regulate negatively. This be promising confirmed further studies.
